Stroke Services

We have an established network of stroke services across Northern Ireland for those who have suffered a stroke or a Transient Ischemic Attack (TIA).

Staffed by NICHS Stroke Co–ordinators in your local area, our aim is to assist people and their families with information, activities and education to better understand the effects of stroke and to make the best of life after stroke.

Stroke Family Liaison – Acts as a link between hospital and home to provide assistance and guidance to families and stroke survivors. This includes assistance and support for carers.

Stroke Schemes – Offer stroke survivors the opportunity to participate in activities that build confidence and increase independence, through discussion and activities.

Young Stroke Schemes – This service has been specifically designed to meet the needs of the younger stroke client.

Self Management – Provides education and training for survivors to improve the quality of life after stroke.
